The Color Countess, is one of the leading voices in modern color analysis and undertone education.
Megan’s career began with a mistake that changed everything.
For nearly 30 years, she was confidently analyzed as a True Spring. Her wardrobe, her hair color, and her identity were built around warm, high-energy hues, until she encountered the actual science behind color harmony and discovered she was, in fact, a Cool Summer. That moment didn’t just change her closet. It launched a career.
Today, Megan is master-trained in the 16-season system and has become a nationally recognized authority on undertone, value, and intensity — and why getting undertone right is the foundation of every successful result in hair, makeup, and wardrobe.
Based in Columbus, Ohio, Megan works with influencers, executives, beauty professionals, and major brands to teach not just what colors look good, but why they work. She is best known for her work in undertone education, helping hairstylists and makeup artists move from guessing to consulting, and for developing professional training tools that are now being adopted across the beauty industry.
Her work sits at the intersection of color science, perception, and personal identity and she’s building a new standard for how undertone is taught and applied in professional beauty.
And yes, just to keep things interesting, Megan is also a four-time reality TV and game show contestant — which explains why her color sessions are famously high-energy, interactive, and unforgettable.

No, your season stays the same because it’s based on your skin tone, and your natural hair color. If your hair is dyed, during your analysis, we’ll cover your hair to ensure the most accurate results, but afterward, we can also discuss hair colors that align with your palette if you’re considering a change.
No, your color palette remains constant. Tan is an overtone, not an undertone, so it’s not assessed in the analysis. However, each season includes a range of lighter and darker shades, so you might feel more drawn to one end of that spectrum as your skin tone changes with the seasons. For example, when you’re tanner, you might find the bolder colors in your palette feel more fitting, while the lighter shades complement you best when your skin is lighter.
Not at all! If your hair has naturally grayed or whitened, those shades are part of your natural color harmony. Your season will still complement your skin and hair, and in fact, gray or white hair often works beautifully with a seasonal palette, highlighting its sophisticated and timeless quality.
It’s possible! We use the advanced 16-palette system from the International Image Institute, which provides a more precise and detailed analysis than traditional 4, 10, or 12-season systems. Those older methods may not account for neutral undertones, which could mean you weren’t given the most accurate results. Our system includes a broader range of options, giving you a more specific palette tailored to your unique coloring.
You can absolutely still wear black! If it’s not part of your color palette, we’ll explore ways to balance it with complementary colors through your hair, accessories, jewelry and makeup to create harmony and maintain your best look
